NEWS RELEASE – This Giving Tuesday the Guelph Humane Society is pawsitively excited to get 7 puppies home for the holidays!

December 3, 2019 (Guelph, ON) – The Guelph Humane Society (GHS) is celebrating this Giving Tuesday with a litter full of adorable newborn puppies with a heart-warming story to share. GHS has seven (7) adorable puppies in their care, along with the puppies’ mom, Cara and her sister, Reese.

Ren’s Pets Holiday Pet Photos

Ren’s Pets Depot is hosting a holiday pet photo session on Saturday November 23rd from 10am – 2pm!

Photo session times can be signed up for on the day at Ren’s, and is first come first served. Please ensure animals are properly contained (leashes, carriers, etc).

Funds raised will be donated to the Guelph Humane Society, to help our highest priority needs this holiday season.

Crock-A-Doodle

Crock-A-Doodle will be in-store at Ren’s Guelph on November 23rd with Paint a Pawprint ceramic tiles. Donations can be made to the Guelph Humane Society.

Guelph Humane Society Happily Ever After Gala Raises $267,800

GUELPH, ON (November 12, 2019) – Guelph Humane Society (GHS) Happily Ever After Gala, presented by Dr. Barry White and Family, returned for a second year and raised a total of $267,800 on Saturday night at the Delta Guelph.

Guelph Humane Society hosts their second Microchip Clinic of the year on Oct 19, 2019!

GUELPH, ON (October 8, 2019) – Losing a pet can be a stressful situation and when pets don’t have any identification it can be even more worrisome.  The Guelph Humane Society is hosting their second Microchip Clinic of the year on Saturday, October 19th, 2019 from 9am to 3pm at Wayne Pitman Ford Lincoln Inc., located in the Guelph Auto Mall at 895 Woodlawn Road West, Guelph, ON.  Microchips provide a safe and effective way to help lost pets return home quickly and safely.

Guelph Humane Society digs for new digs

 GUELPH, ON (September 17, 2019) – Staff, volunteers, donors, community members – and a couple of very good dogs – joined in the festivities today during the ceremonial groundbreaking event at the site of the Guelph Humane Society’s new home, 190 Hanlon Creek Blvd in Guelph. Construction for the new building is expected to be completed by Fall 2020.

Guelph Humane Society announces transformational gift for its Capital Campaign

GUELPH, ON (September 4, 2019) – The Guelph Humane Society (GHS) is thrilled to announce a $5 Million gift from Kim and Stu Lang in support of the GHS Capital Campaign – Unleashing Hope. Thanks to their gift, construction on the new facility will begin later this month and is expected to take approximately 1 year. The gift is the largest-ever received in the history of the Guelph Humane Society.

Guelph Humane Society shares that cat found in blue tote bin is now available for adoption

GUELPH, ON (July 29, 2019) – The Guelph Humane Society (GHS) is pleased to announce that the cat found in a plastic blue tote bin is now ready to find her loving home. The black short hair cat, lovingly named Tina by GHS staff, was discovered abandoned at the intersection of Imperial and Westwood roads in Guelph by a passing driver in April of this year. The cat was found inside of the tote with the lid duct taped shut and the finder immediately brought the cat to GHS for care. An owner for the cat was sought after, but no one came forward to claim the female cat, estimated to be 8 years old.

The Guelph Humane Society continues their investigations until a new provincial system is developed

Guelph, ON [June 28, 2019] – The Guelph Humane Society (GHS) will continue to protect animals at risk over the next six months while the Ontario Government develops a new animal protection act. GHS is proud to continue their vital provincial animal protection work within the Guelph and Wellington County area (now including the Town of Erin).
