In March, we asked you to reach out to your MPP to let them know how important it is that animals in Guelph and Wellington County continued to be protected, despite the OSPCA’s withdrawal from enforcement. We are happy to share that your voice was heard – you were the voice for the animals, who have no one else.

The Ontario Government has proposed an amendment to the Ontario SPCA Act (Bill 117), which if passed, would enable our organization to continue the enforcement work we are already doing to protect animals in Guelph and Wellington County. This temporary legislative measure will keep animals safe in the interim, while a more robust, transparent and accountable animal protection system can be developed for Ontario.
