Pet of the Week
Hello, my name is Michael!
The GHS family thinks I'm awesome because I am a gentle boy with the softest, cutest little meow - my friends at GHS like to say I have a small meow but a big heart! While I might be a touch shy when I first meet you, I blossom to show you my true self in no time! I am a very entertaining boy and love to play with my toys or stalk squirrels in the tree outside the window. I greet my foster mama every morning with my cute chirp and follow her to the kitchen to help make coffee before breakfast. I love my belly rubs and brushing mitt - anything that involves petting and attention really!
My new family should know that I have a progressive FeLV infection, which means I need to be an indoor cat. Feline leukemia (FeLV) is contagious to other cats, and therefore, would recommend consulting with your veterinarian on risks of adding me to a feline-friendly home. Due to my compromised immune system, I have a dental condition called stomatitis which required a dentistry to remove most of my teeth. My new family should be prepared that I may start to show symptoms related to FeLV or take longer to recovery from ailments that wouldn't be a "big deal" to other cats. I can still live a very happy life in a quiet environment and with regular veterinary care, so the GHS recommends speaking to your vet prior to adopting me. I would make a wonderful addition to a calm and cuddly home - take me home today!
