ANIMAL CARE ATTENDANT – FULL-TIME background

ANIMAL CARE ATTENDANT – FULL-TIME

TITLE: Animal Care Attendant
LOCATION: 190 Hanlon Creek Blvd., Guelph, ON (as of early March 2021)
HOURS OF WORK: Full-time (40 hours/week); schedule to be determined and may include weekdays, evenings, Saturdays, Sundays, and statutory holidays.

JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Animal Care Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of day-to-day tasks related to the general/medical care, humane handling, sanitation, and monitoring of dogs, cats, and small animals, as well as providing short-term care for injured or orphaned wildlife that are awaiting transport to a licensed wildlife rehabilitator. In addition, the incumbent will be responsible for assisting with the lost and found program, greeting clients, providing exceptional customer service, having excellent communication and organizational skills, and demonstrating a positive attitude at all times.

ANIMAL SERVICES OFFICER – FULL-TIME (6 month contract)

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Animal Services Officer; Full-time (6 month contract)
LOCATION: 190 Hanlon Creek Blvd., Guelph, ON (as of early March 2021)
HOURS OF WORK: 40 hours/week – Rotating shifts, Monday to Sunday (flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends, holidays). Overnight on-call shifts required.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Manager, Animal Services, the Animal Services Officer is responsible for responding to requests for animal services; enforcing municipal and provincial legislation with the City of Guelph, Township of Centre-Wellington, and Township of Guelph-Eramosa; providing detailed reports; and resolving matters through education and enforcement. The Animal Services Officer will be required to provide exceptional customer service in a fast paced, high call-volume environment under diverse and sometimes challenging circumstances and represent the GHS in a professional manner at all times, through demonstrating a positive attitude, fostering good community relations and supporting the overall mission and values of the GHS.

WILDLIFE CARE ATTENDANT – SUMMER POSITION background

WILDLIFE CARE ATTENDANT – SUMMER POSITION

TITLE: Wildlife Care Attendant – 2 positions
LOCATION: 190 Hanlon Creek Blvd, Guelph, ON
HOURS OF WORK: Full-time Contract (late April to August 2020); 32-40 hours/week; will include weekdays, evenings, Saturdays, Sundays, and statutory holidays.

JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Manager – Animal Care (or designate), the successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of day-to-day tasks related to the short-term general/ medical care of injured, sick and orphaned wildlife that are awaiting transport to a licensed wildlife rehabilitator, including humane handling, sanitation, medical treatment and monitoring, In addition, the candidate will provide advice and support to phone inquiries about wildlife, and will assist with wildlife rescue. Candidate will be responsible for greeting clients, providing exceptional customer service, having excellent communication and organizational skills, and demonstrating a positive attitude at all times.
