Event and Community Relations Coordinator

Under the direction of the Manager of Marketing & Communications, the incumbent will be responsible for a wide range of community relations activities, including events (large & small scale), promotion, attendance at community events, media relations and as well as maintaining a positive public image of the GHS. The Events & Community Relations Coordinator will provide exceptional customer service, excellent communication and organization skills, and will demonstrate a positive attitude at all times, while supporting the overall mission and values of the GHS.

Community Spay and Neuter Coordinator background

Community Spay and Neuter Coordinator

Under the direction of the Associate Director, the incumbent will be responsible
for managing the Community Spay Neuter program, an innovative new program aimed at reducing cat
overpopulation in the Guelph and Wellington County by providing low-cost spay/neuter surgeries to
high risk groups.

Through this program, the Guelph Humane Society will offer 10 spay-neuter clinics in
2019, in partnership with Ontario Veterinary College (OVC) and Community Veterinary Outreach (CVO).
Surgeries will be available to pets of clients referred by Community Veterinary Outreach as well as Barn
Cat Owners in Guelph, Guelph-Eramosa, and Centre Wellington. Responsibilities of this position will
include administering all non-clinical aspects of the program, such as communication with clients;
orientation, training, and coordination of volunteers; development of pre- and post-surgical client
education material; management of non-clinical inventory supply; and record tracking and reporting.

The incumbent will provide exceptional customer service, excellent communication and organization
skills, and will demonstrate a positive attitude at all times, while supporting the overall mission and
values of the GHS.
