DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT - FULL TIME PERMANENT

TITLE: Director of Development

LOCATION: 190 Hanlon Creek Boulevard, Guelph, ON

HOURS OF WORK: Approx. 40 hours/week; Flexibility for some evenings and weekends

TYPE: Full time permanent

JOB SUMMARY:

The Guelph Humane Society (GHS) advocates for all animals and in particular those animals whose lives it can influence, through care, education, community support, protection, and leadership.

The Director of Development is responsible for leading a comprehensive donor relations and stewardship program that relays impact, inspires, and fosters lasting relationships to advance the mission of GHS. They will be responsible for elevating GHS’s fundraising achievements through the creation and implementation of strategic directions that actively engage community partners, sponsors, prospects and donors at all levels; leverage key relationships to achieve fundraising goals; and promote and enhance the public image of the organization.

Reporting to the Executive Director and leading a team of four direct reports, the Director of Development is a key member of the senior management team at GHS and plays a leadership role in setting and executing the organization’s fundraising strategy.

JOB SUMMARY:              

Under the direction of the Director, Communications & Community Engagement, the Volunteer & Engagement Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the Volunteer Program at the Guelph Humane Society (GHS) as well as providing support to community programs and engagement activities. This position will also provide program and communications support to meet departmental objectives. Responsibilities also include providing exceptional customer service, excellent communication, and organization skills, and demonstrating a positive attitude at all times, while supporting the overall mission and values of the GHS.

TYPE:                                   Full time permanent

JOB SUMMARY:              

Under the direction of the Manager, Community Programs & Outreach, the Education & Community Programs Coordinator will coordinate all aspects of the Humane Education Program at the Guelph Humane Society and will assist with the delivery of community programs, outreach, and communications activities.

The successful candidate will have a passion for developing impactful educational programming for kids, youths and adults. The incumbent will provide exceptional customer service, excellent communication, leadership, and organization skills, and will demonstrate a positive attitude, while supporting the overall mission and values of the GHS.
