Registration for Spring 2025 Youth Apprenticeship Program is NOW OPEN!

The Youth Apprenticeship Program is a 10-week long program at the Guelph Humane Society for youth in grades 7-10. This course provides participants with an in-depth look into shelter operations through covering a wide range of topics including basic pet first aid, animal care, animal services, fundraising and so much more!  

Through interactive animal experiences and hands-on learning, this program will give youth the opportunity to develop leadership, teamwork and collaboration skills while gaining an extensive knowledge of animal welfare. The program will also allow youth to gain volunteer hours through exclusive volunteer opportunities.  

We are offering two sessions of YAP in Spring 2025! One session will run on Wednesday evenings from 4:30pm-6:00pm starting on April 9th, and the other on Thursday evenings from 4:30pm-6:00pm starting on April 10th. There are also two volunteer opportunities that participants can sign up for! 

We are also excited to share that participants in the 2025 Spring YAP sessions will have the opportunity to participate in a field trip to The Donkey Sanctuary of Canada.

This 10-week long program costs $299.

Refund Policy: 

Any refund or exchange requested prior to 14 days before the program start date, at 10:00 am will be subject to a 20% administration fee. After said time, refunds will be issued at the discretion of the Guelph Humane Society Incorporated. Please ensure that your order is correct before submitting it.
