The Youth Apprenticeship Program is a 10-week long program at the Guelph Humane Society for youth in grades 7-10. This course provides participants with an in-depth look into shelter operations through covering a wide range of topics including basic pet first aid, animal care, animal services, fundraising and so much more!  

Through interactive animal experiences and hands-on learning, this program will give youth the opportunity to develop leadership, teamwork and collaboration skills while gaining an extensive knowledge of animal welfare. The program will also allow youth to gain volunteer hours through exclusive volunteer opportunities.  

The Youth Apprenticeship Program will meet on Saturdays, with two Sunday volunteer opportunities, starting on Saturday, April 20th from 1:00pm – 2:30pm. The full schedule is included below. Please note we will not meet on Saturday, May 18th due to the long weekend.  This 10-week long program costs $299.

Refund Policy: 

Any refund or exchange requested prior to one week before the program start date, at 10:00 am will be subject to a 20% administration fee. After said time, refunds will be issued at the discretion of the Guelph Humane Society Incorporated. Please ensure that your order is correct before submitting it.  

Please be advised we are NOT a peanut free facility.
