NEWS RELEASE: Guelph Humane Society successfully rehomes more pets thanks to PetSmart grant

GUELPH, ON (January 31, 2021) – In late 2019, the Guelph Humane Society (GHS) received a $35,000 grant from PetSmart Charities Canada to support efforts to increase the adoptability of dogs. The grant, called Helping More Dogs Successfully Find Homes, provided the GHS Intake and Behaviour Coordinator the resources needed to develop a more thorough and comprehensive behaviour assessment for dogs coming into the shelter. This new assessment allows for more successful matching with adopters, and also helps to identify areas adopters could work on with their new family member to set them up for success.

NEWS RELEASE: Guelph Humane Society Receives $10,000 Donation from DocuPet

GUELPH, ON (January 18, 2021) – The Guelph Humane Society (GHS) is thrilled to receive a total donation amount of $10,000 from the City of Guelph’s official pet licensing partner, DocuPet. The full donation amount will be allocated to the construction of the new facility, located at 190 Hanlon Creek Boulevard. This gift was made possible by the designer licence tag purchases and direct donations made by residents from the City of Guelph, Guelph Eramosa Township, and the Township of Wellington North through the DocuPet pet licensing site.

NEWS RELEASE: Guelph Humane Society weeks away from “unleashing hope” in new building

GUELPH, ON (January 14, 2021) – The Guelph Humane Society (GHS) is only weeks away from moving into their new home at 190 Hanlon Creek Boulevard in the south end of Guelph, with plans to gain occupancy in early Spring 2021. But there is one catch: GHS has not yet reached their fundraising goals for the new building.

NEWS RELEASE – The Guelph Humane Society has postponed their 2020 “There’s No Place Like Home” gala

GUELPH, ON (August 17, 2020) – The Guelph Humane Society (GHS) has made the difficult decision to postpone their 2020 annual gala, due to the unpredictability of COVID-19. Last year’s gala raised a record $265,000 and GHS looks forward to bringing back the highly successful event again next year on Saturday, November 6, 2021.
