The Guelph Humane Society (GHS) is proud to partner with PetSmart Charities of Canada® to bring adoptable pets to PetSmart Guelph, 183 Silvercreek Parkway North location in support of the 25th Anniversary National Adoption Week, taking place July 15 – 21, 2024.

Guelph Humane Society Urges Pet Owners: Do Not Leave Pets in Hot Cars This Summer
Guelph, ON (June 17, 2024) As temperatures soar this week, the Guelph Humane Society (GHS) is issuing a critical reminder to all pet owners about the dangers of leaving dogs, and other pets, in hot cars. With the risk of heatstroke and even death, it is essential to understand the severe consequences of leaving pets unattended in vehicles, even for short periods of time.

2nd Annual Guelph Humane Society Walk-a-thon raises more than $62,000 for homeless and abandoned animals
Guelph, ON – June 3, 2024 – The Guelph Humane Society (GHS) is excited to announce the success of the 2nd annual Happy Trails Walk-a-thon, proudly presented by Wellington Laboratories.
The event raised $62,314, which will go a long way in providing hope, care and compassion to vulnerable animals from Guelph and Wellington County with nowhere else to turn.

Dog found abandoned in Guelph Lake outhouse holding tank
GUELPH, ON (May 27, 2024) – A Chihuahua was found abandoned in the holding tank of public washroom at Guelph Lake Conservation Area at approximately 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 26th.
An Animal Services Officer from the Guelph Humane Society (GHS) responded to a call from a conservation officer that found her.
