GUELPH, ON (October 31, 2017) – The Guelph Humane Society (GHS) is asking the community for donations to help cover the cost of veterinary care for a cat that was hit by a car on Sunday night. ‘Domino’, as he has been affectionately named by the staff at GHS, was rescued from College Ave. in Guelph by a compassionate pizza delivery driver, who immediately took him to a veterinary clinic for help. His quick thinking and fast response ensured that Domino, a beautiful orange tabby, had a fighting chance to receive the life-saving care that he desperately needs.

GUELPH, ON (September 29, 2017) – The Guelph Humane Society (GHS) is seeking information from the public after four young cats were seen being thrown from a vehicle on Wellington County Road 32, near Speedvale Ave. West, around mid-day on Tuesday, September 26. All four cats were secured by a caring passerby, and brought to the Guelph Humane Society for care. (more…)

Having a microchip greatly increases the likelihood of the animal being reunited with their owner.

The Guelph Humane Society knows that a missing pet can be a stressful situation, and when pets don’t have any identification it can be even more worrisome.

Guelph (September 20, 2016) – Canada’s bird and cat populations are in trouble, and a coalition of Guelph groups working with Nature Canada’s Keep Cats Safe & Save Bird Lives campaign are calling on the community to help keep both safe by keeping cats from roaming outdoors unsupervised.

GUELPH, ON (August 2, 2016) – The Guelph Humane Society is seeking support from the public after an intake of approximately 60 small animals and birds into its care, including 20 rabbits (which includes one nursing mother and another confirmed pregnant), 5 hedgehogs, 2 chinchillas, 2 chickens, 20 button quail, and 11 coturnix quail. The Guelph Humane Society is asking the community for support to help care for these animals.

GUELPH, ON (July 11, 2016) – The Guelph Humane Society is pleased to announce the “Cat Days of Summer” Adoption campaign, with the goal of finding loving homes for as many cats and kittens as possible over the next few weeks.

The summertime brings a large influx in the number of cats and kittens entering the humane society’s care, so the Guelph Humane Society is encouraging cat-lovers to come and check out the cats available for adoption.

GUELPH, ON (May 6, 2016) – The Guelph Humane Society is reaching out to the local rural community in hopes of finding more barn homes to participate in their Barn Cat Adoption Program.

While the majority of cats that come into the Guelph Humane Society are able to be adopted into traditional home environments, there are some cats for which this is not suitable. The barn cat adoption program offers a second chance for difficult-to-place felines, such as cats that are feral or poorly socialized, or those with behavioural issues such as poor litter box habits.
