GUELPH, ON (February 5, 2019) – The Guelph Humane Society (GHS) is celebrating a very delicious month filled with cupcakes and baked goods! February is Cupcake Month and GHS is encouraging you to get involved and help raise money for the most vulnerable animals in our community by hosting your very own Cupcake ‘Pawty’ or bake sale in support of GHS.
GHS is excited to be hosting their very own family friendly Cupcake PAW-ty and Bake sale on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at the Guelph Humane Society. It’s going to be a big party with cupcakes and baked goods for sale, a dog trainer (JV Training) showcasing a training demonstration, face painting to transform guests, cupcake decorating, balloon animals, friendly animals and more! Bring your family to 500 Wellington Street West between 11:00am and 3:00pm to get in on the fun.
“February is going to be such a sweet month! We are excited to engage with our community, build new relationships, celebrate current relationships…and of course, eat cupcakes for a good cause,” says Louise Frost, Manager, Marketing and Communications at GHS. “If you’re looking for a way to support the Guelph Humane Society, it’s easy – get together with your colleagues, networking group, committee, school, church, or family and host a cupcake pawty or bake sale to support the most vulnerable animals in our community.”

National Cupcake Day, as part of Cupcake Month, is on February 25, 2019. It is a coordinated Canadian event to support local shelters, SPCAs, and Humane Societies. In 2018, animal lovers across Canada raised over $700,000 in support of their favourite Societies. The campaign has raised $3.15 million to date!
The Guelph Humane Society relies solely on donor support to provide veterinary care, high quality food, and spay/neuters for approximately 3,000 homeless, stray, injured, and abused animals each year. Donor support is crucial to rescue pets who have no one else to turn to for care and love.
