About the GHS Pet Food Bank

Economic hardship, such as housing insecurity and the cost of living, including the rising cost of caring for pets, are some of the most common reasons we are currently seeing for pet surrenders to GHS. The GHS Cares pet food bank aims to reduce pressures on families by providing a consistent, reliable, source of healthy food for pets in their care, and ultimately, keeping more pets and people together.

How to access our Pet Food Bank:

If you are in need of food assistance for your pet, we encourage you to reach out via phone 519-824-3091 or email ghscares@guelphhumane.ca

Based on your location, our team will let you know where the closest access point is!

How to support our Pet Food Bank:

Physical donations are accepted at the shelter Monday-Friday from 9-5 or Weekends from 10-4.

We prefer small, unopened bags of kibble to best meet community needs.

Any unopened Royal Canin food will be distributed to the dogs and cats in the shelter. All other brands, will be distributed throughout the community.

For questions regarding our Pet Food Bank, please email ghscares@guelphhumane.ca.
