Guelph, ON – June 3, 2024 – The Guelph Humane Society (GHS) is excited to announce the success of the 2nd annual Happy Trails Walk-a-thon, proudly presented by Wellington Laboratories.
The event raised $62,314, which will go a long way in providing hope, care and compassion to vulnerable animals from Guelph and Wellington County with nowhere else to turn.
GHS hosted 246 walkers, including 34 teams and 80 dogs this past Sunday, celebrating the meaning of animals in our lives.
“We are so grateful for the amazing turnout, despite the rain. The overwhelming support from our community for this event has been truly outstanding,” says Lisa Veit, GHS Executive Director. “Thank you to Wellington Laboratories, and all of our participants, sponsors, volunteers and everyone who contributed to making this walk a remarkable success. Together, we are making a positive impact on the welfare of animals in our community.”
Funds raised will support GHS in the delivery of essential, and often critical, care needed each day to support animals in need in our community.
The event featured the Team Zone sponsored by Speedy Auto Service, a meet and greet with GHS alumni, 
and the Subawoof Zone, sponsored by Pfaff Subaru, which featured an agility booth for dogs and a kids’ zone.
Donations to support the event can still be made on the GHS website.
Veit adds, “It is only through the support of our community at events such as this that we can give the 1000’s of animals that come through our door each year the hope they need, the care they require and the compassion they so richly deserve.”
