Give an Animal a Safe Place to Call Home
Every animal deserves a safe place to land, a full belly, a little comfort, and the chance to begin again.
The Guelph Humane Society’s Happy Tails Begin Here – Kennel Adoption Program offers a meaningful way to provide ongoing support for vulnerable animals in our community. By adopting a kennel or cage, you’re helping create the safe, enriching environment animals need while they wait for their forever homes.
Your Adoption Makes a Difference
Our new facility features 90 cages and kennels available for adoption, each designed with the comfort and wellbeing of animals in mind.
- Dog kennels include outdoor access, giving dogs more opportunities for fresh air and enrichment.
- Cat spaces feature viewing domes and modular enclosures, allowing cats to move between multiple connected cages.
- Small animals and farm animals now have larger, dedicated spaces designed specifically for their needs.
Together, these spaces provide thousands of animals each year with a safe, comfortable temporary home. A place where they can feel safe, receive loving care, enjoy toys and enrichment, and have plenty of nutritious food and treats while they wait for their Happy Tail adoption moment.
Adopt a Space. Give Hope.
When you adopt a kennel or cage, you’re making a direct and lasting investment in the animals who call GHS home.
You can choose a kennel or cage in either a public or non-public area of the facility and personalize your support with a custom recognition plaque. And because your adopted space is part of the GHS community, you’re welcome to visit and see the difference your generosity is helping make.

Make It Personal with a Recognition Plaque
A kennel adoption can be a meaningful way to celebrate someone special, honour a beloved pet, remember a loved one, or bring your business, family, or employee group together around a cause you care about.
The GHS team will work with you to create a personalized plaque recognizing your support. Your plaque will be displayed on the kennel or cage for the duration of your one-year adoption.
Plaques typically include 10–20 words, giving you the opportunity to share a message that is personal, heartfelt, or simply celebrates your love for animals.
Whether you’re giving in memory, in honour, or simply because you believe every animal deserves a second chance, your support helps make their journey home a little brighter.
