Guelph, ON – August 15, 2023 – The Guelph Humane Society (GHS) signature Happy Tails Gala, proudly presented by Speedy Auto Service Guelph, is set to return on November 4, 2023. You won’t want to miss this one-of-a-kind, unfur-gettable New Orleans inspired evening! Tickets are already 40% sold and selling fast.

“The GHS Happy Tails Gala is our largest and most important fundraising event of the year,” says Lisa Veit, GHS’s executive director. “Funds raised are critical to our success in serving the needs of Guelph and Wellington County’s most vulnerable animals.”

GHS, along with presenting sponsor Speedy Auto Service Guelph, expects to attract 300 animal lovers and supporters to this year’s ‘Happy Tails Gala: Mardi PAW Masquerade’ at the Delta Hotels Guelph Conference Centre. Guests are invited to take a stroll down Bourbon Street, interact with musicians, buskers and even some animals in our care at this New Orleans inspired event.

“GHS relies on donations and sponsorships to provide care to more than 3000 animals in need each year,” says Veit. “Proceeds from the gala support of our animal sheltering and adoption programs to help homeless animals find their Happy Tail.”

Veit underscores that funds raised will also support vital services created to help keep more pets and people together through the organization’s GHS Cares Programs, which offers social support for people with pets who are experiencing crisis.  Programs include emergency sheltering for pets belonging to vulnerable community members in crisis, no-cost boarding for pets of women fleeing domestic violence and pet sheltering support for vulnerable seniors facing hospitalization.

“We are thrilled to be working with our valued sponsors to bring the community together to celebrate the important role animals play in our lives at this fun-filled event,” says Veit.

Corporate sponsorship opportunities starting at $250 are still available. Silent auction donations are also appreciated.

The evening will include a three-course dinner, Beads and Bids Silent Auction, spectacular live auction with unique experiences and getaways, live jazz from the Jakob Durst Trio, street performers, buskers, tarot card reading and, of course, interactive stations with GHS animals.

Tickets to this formal dress or costume dress event are $150 per person or $1,500 for a table (10 seats per table). Elevated VIP Table Experiences are available for $2,500. Learn more at GuelphHumane.ca, email events@guelphhumane.ca or call 519-824-3091.
