GHS Microchip Clinic

Join us on Saturday, June 4th, 2022 for another GHS Microchip Clinic. It will be the second clinic at our new facility (190 Hanlon Creek Blvd, Guelph).

Our goal is to get 120 animals microchipped! Cats or dogs are welcome.

You MUST register ahead of time. Register at www.guelphhumane.ca/micro.

Appointments are available between 9am and 2:30pm.

Dogs will be microchipped OUTSIDE the building, and cats will be taken inside to be microchipped.

GHS Estates & Planned Giving Seminar, in partnership with RLB

November is Prepare Your Will Month.
This session invites people who are interested in learning how to prepare estate and planned gifts.

About this event

Learn more about making a planned or estate gift to a charity, with information from a professional accountant and Guelph Humane Society staff.

This free event is planning to have an in person opportunity at our new building at 190 Hanlon Creek Blvd. (max 20 people), as well as streaming online. The date and set up of this event is pending COVID-19 restrictions & registrations.

In partnership with RLB Chartered Professional Accountants. The RLB speaker is Alex Di Lello (CPA, CA), Senior Manager from the Estates team.

Alex will discuss the tax advantages of planned gifts and donations, stocks & securities during your lifetime and in your Will. Every gift makes a real difference in the lives of animals today, and in the decades to come.

Have you planned for your own pet’s future?

The Guelph Humane Society’s Executive Director Adrienne McBride will also be speaking on Pet Stewardship, and how to plan for your pet should they outlive you.

Please note: Visitors must show proof of full vaccination status & photo ID to attend in person. Those with a valid medical note are exempt from this requirement.

GHS Summer 50/50 Online Lottery

The GHS Summer 50/50 online lottery runs June 15, 2021 – July 15, 2021 (closes 12pm). 

The draw for the Father’s Day Push: Draw #1 will take place Tuesday June 22, 2021 at 11:00am. 

The draw for the Long Weekend Push: Draw #2 will take place Tuesday July 6 at 11:00am. 

The draw for the grand prize draw will take place on Thursday July 15 at 1:00pm.

Share with friends and family through your social media! Donations made in support of an animal are valued at one vote for every $1.00 donated. Those who donate $20.00 or more will receive a tax-receipt

The Top 12 pets with the highest votes ($1=1 vote)  will win a spot in our 2022 calendar. The pet with the most votes will also get the front cover image of the calendar!

The 12 winners with the highest number of votes will be asked to bring their pet to the Guelph Humane Society, 190 Hanlon Creek Blvd., Guelph, ON, in order to have their pictures taken on Saturday, June 12th by Laura Wombwell Photography. A backup date for the photoshoot will be Saturday July 10. (due to COVID-19, this date may be subject to change). Please ensure you are available for this date prior to entering, or email events@guelphhumane.ca if you have concerns.

NEWS RELEASE – The Guelph Humane Society has postponed their 2020 “There’s No Place Like Home” gala

GUELPH, ON (August 17, 2020) – The Guelph Humane Society (GHS) has made the difficult decision to postpone their 2020 annual gala, due to the unpredictability of COVID-19. Last year’s gala raised a record $265,000 and GHS looks forward to bringing back the highly successful event again next year on Saturday, November 6, 2021.

NEWS RELEASE – The Guelph Humane Society asks the community to keep turtles safe this season!

Guelph, ON (June 4, 2019) – The Guelph Humane Society (GHS) would like to remind motorists to “give turtles a break” this time of year.  Turtles are at the beginning of their egg-laying season, which will continue until early July. Females often will lay their eggs in the sandy, gravel shoulders along our roads, then while crossing the roadways they are at significant risk of injuries or death due to collisions with vehicles.

NEWS RELEASE – The Guelph Humane Society is preparing for a busy kitten season, despite COVID-19 closures

GUELPH, ON (April 30, 2020) – The Guelph Humane Society (GHS) is preparing for another busy kitten this Spring, despite COVID-19 measures in our community. Every year, the humane society cares for approximately 400 kittens, many of whom are sick, injured, or orphaned.
