You are invited to GHS’s first ever in-person open house at our new building!

Saturday, December 4th

Check out all the fun things we have in store for you:

Small Group Tours of the Building

Get a sneak peek of our Small Animal, Cat, and Dog Adoption Rooms and meet all our animal friends who are waiting for their new families…who knows, you might even bring home a new furry family member!

The tour ends off in our Holiday Marketplace, where you’ll be able to purchase holiday gifts for your pets, friends, and family (more on that below).

There will be very limited walk-in spots available. Please check in with our Welcome Booth to sign-up.

Note: Those who wish to participate in a tour must show proof of full vaccination status & photo ID. Those who are under the age of 12 yrs old or have a valid medical note are exempt from this requirement.

Visit our indoor holiday marketplace for some great gifts for your pets or animal-lovin’ family and friends. Browse our selection of pet collars and leashes, GHS swag, jewelry, poinsettias, hot chocolate bombs, and handmade gift cards.

 

Outdoor Winter Wonderland

Stroll around our outdoor areas and visit our GHS booths, all while enjoying some hot refreshments, sweet treats, and live music.

Thinking to add an extra pop of colour to your festive decor? You can pre-order your poinsettias for pick-up during our open house. Both 6″ and 10″ pots available. GHS calendars and holiday ornaments are also available.

Guelph Humane Society Holiday Open House

Saturday December 7th from 11am – 2pm is the annual Holiday Open House at the Guelph Humane Society!

This is a great opportunity  to visit us, learn more about the services & care we provide and interact with some of our featured activities. Activities include things such as a scavenger hunt, learn about our new upcoming building, help make dog toys, and so much more.

This is an all ages event – bring the family and get ready for some festive fun!

S&S Paint Works: Third Annual Open House

We are so excited to support the S&S Paint Works Third Annual Open House! All the proceeds from the event will go the GHS and help support our  animals in need in our community!

You asked and we listened! The S&S open house is back and it’s going to be the biggest one yet! Make sure you come down on July 6th for another great day of free BBQ lunch, big ticket and one off raffle prizes and of course, some of the [coolest] local cars, trucks and bikes! This is the first year we will be introducing the People’s Choice Award, so make sure your ride is looking it’s best! Don’t forget to bring some cash if you want to purchase any raffle tickets, bake sale items or if anything catches your eye at the ‘Garage Sale’. Remember all proceeds go straight to the Guelph Humane Society!

Rockwood Fire Hall Open House

The Guelph Humane Society will have a booth at this event, come out and learn about how to be prepared in an emergency!

DRAW and PRIZES

The Township of Guelph/Eramosa Fire Department, along with their Emergency Response Partners, is hosting an Open House and Information Day on Saturday May 4, 2019.  This event is being held in conjunction with National Emergency Preparedness Week which runs from May 5 – 11, 2019.  Fire and Emergency Services serving the Township of Guelph/Eramosa and Wellington County will be at this event to present an exciting and informative day for the community.

*     Do you know what your community risks are?

*     What would you do if a tornado struck your house?

*     Are you prepared for power outages?

*     Do you have enough of the right supplies in your home to be self sufficient for 3 days?  Are you prepared for an emergency?

*     View some of the response capabilities that the Township currently has.

*    Combination Smoke/Co Alarms will be available for purchase.

Come out and meet your local Firefighters, O.P.P., Military and other response team partners. Watch an auto extrication event and practice with the fire extinguisher simulator.  Spray some water from the tanker and then enjoy a barbecue lunch with Sparky.  Be sure to enter the draw for prizes.

Also, the Township will be holding its 2019 Green Tree Legacy distribution day.  Non-perishable food donation items will accepted on behalf of East Wellington Community Services.
