Guelph, ON (November 12, 2024) – The Guelph Humane Society (GHS) is thrilled to announce this year’s Happy Tails Gala raised more than $150,000 net to support vulnerable animals in Guelph and Wellington County. The annual event, proudly presented by returning title sponsor Speedy Auto Service Guelph, was held on November 2nd and brought together 300 animal lovers, supporters, and community partners in a celebration of compassion, resilience, and hope for a more humane future.
This year’s gala themed “There’s No Place Like Home,” captivated attendees with stories of remarkable recoveries made possible by GHS’s dedicated care. Guests heard firsthand about Cleo, a Chihuahua rescued from unimaginable conditions, and Vivo, a courageous cat who survived against the odds. The stories highlighted the need for community support for transformational, life-saving care at GHS which gives animals a second chance in a safe and loving home.
“The success of this year’s Happy Tails Gala is a testament to the incredible commitment of our supporters and the generosity of our community,” said Lisa Veit, Executive Director of GHS. “Every dollar raised helps us provide essential medical care, safe shelter, and the comfort of a loving environment for animals in need.”
The funds raised will go directly to GHS programs, including essential veterinary care, adoption services, and GHS Cares Programs, all aimed at giving hope, care and compassion to animals in need. This year’s gala included exciting silent and live auctions, inspiring speeches, and a special presentation that invited guests to help create a more compassionate world for animals.
GHS would like to thank all attendees, donors, volunteers, and sponsors for their invaluable support and belief in the organization’s mission. With their contributions, GHS continues to ensure that every animal, no matter their past, has a chance at a brighter future.
