Our New Home

We need a new home … and we need your help!

Why are we moving?

For the last 50 years, the Guelph Humane
Society (GHS) has been located at 500 Wellington St. W., in a small city-owned building next to Guelph’s wastewater treatment plant. The City needs our current property to expand the wastewater infrastructure. This provides us an important opportunity for the construction of a new shelter.

We need your help!

We have purchased land at 190 Hanlon Creek Boulevard and are in the process of planning the new building and outdoor spaces. Our new facility will provide a modern space with expanded community programs and an improved experience for visitors. We need support from you, our generous community, to help build our new home.

We encourage you to join with us to help build a new safe space for our community’s most vulnerable animals!

About GHS

GHS advocates for all animals, and in particular those animals whose lives we can influence, through care, education, community support, protection, and leadership. We provide care and shelter for about 3,000 homeless, stray, injured and abused animals each year. GHS is a registered charitable organization that does not receive government funding.
